Checklist for Eid ul Azha Day

 


Here’s a helpful checklist for Eidul Azha Day to make sure everything goes smoothly:

 

1. Spiritual Preparation

  • Perform Fajr prayer early.
  • Read Quran and make special Duas.
  • Take a Ghusl (ritual bath).
  • Wear your best clothes (preferably new or freshly cleaned).
  • Apply perfume (men) or light fragrance (women, if at home).

2. Going to Eid Prayer

  • Eat something light (traditionally dates) before going.
  • Recite Takbeer (Allahu Akbar...) on the way.
  • Go early to the mosque or Eid ground.
  • Offer Eid ul Azha prayer.
  • Listen to the Khutbah attentively.

 

 3. Qurbani (Sacrifice)

  • Confirm arrangements with butcher or Qurbani service.
  • Make sure animal meets Shariah requirements.
  • Witness the sacrifice (if possible).
  • Recite Bismillah Allahu Akbar at the time of sacrifice.
  • Distribute meat:
    • 1/3 to family.
