1.
Spiritual Preparation
- Perform
Fajr prayer early.
- Read Quran
and make special Duas.
- Take a
Ghusl (ritual bath).
- Wear your
best clothes (preferably new or freshly cleaned).
- Apply
perfume (men) or light fragrance (women, if at home).

Going to Eid Prayer
- Eat
something light (traditionally dates) before going.
- Recite Takbeer
(Allahu Akbar...) on the way.
- Go early to
the mosque or Eid ground.
- Offer Eid
ul Azha prayer.
- Listen to
the Khutbah attentively.
3. Qurbani (Sacrifice)
- Confirm
arrangements with butcher or Qurbani service.
- Make sure
animal meets Shariah requirements.
- Witness the
sacrifice (if possible).
- Recite Bismillah
Allahu Akbar at the time of sacrifice.
- Distribute
meat:
- 1/3 to
family.
- 1/3 to
relatives & friends.
- 1/3 to the
poor & needy.
4. Home Preparation
- Deep clean
the house before Eid.
- Set up
seating for guests.
- Arrange
tableware & serving dishes.
- Prepare Eid
meal (plan menu ahead of time).
- Decorate
home (optional).
5. Hosting & Visiting
- Send Eid
greetings (text, calls, in-person).
- Exchange Eidi
(money/gifts) with kids & loved ones.
- Visit
family, friends, & neighbors.
- Welcome
guests with refreshments.
6.
Capturing Memories
- Take family
photos.
- Record
moments of Qurbani.
- Share
memories respectfully on social media.
7. Aftercare & Clean-up
- Properly
dispose of animal remains (follow local guidelines).
- Freeze/store
meat properly.
- Clean
utensils used for Qurbani.
- Reflect on
the meaning of Eid ul Azha.
- Continue
Takbeer until sunset of the 13th Dhul Hijjah.
